Welcome to SIGGRAPH 2025
Apply to the Student Volunteer Program
The SIGGRAPH 2025 Student Volunteer Program is essential to the successful operation of the conference, providing valuable support across a wide range of venues. From assisting with cutting-edge Production Sessions to facilitating hands-on experiences in the Emerging Technologies showcase, our Student Volunteers are involved in every aspect of the conference. These dedicated individuals gain firsthand experience in conference management and are instrumental in helping SIGGRAPH bring innovative content and interactive opportunities to all attendees.
Student Volunteers contribute a wide range of inclusive perspectives that enhance the experience for all attendees, reinforcing SIGGRAPH’s dedication to inclusivity and making them an indispensable part of our conference’s community — a space where everyone feels engaged and inspired. The passion and energy of Student Volunteers embody the aspirations of the next generation in computer graphics and interactive techniques. While supporting the conference as a Student Volunteer, you will gain unique insight to the latest in technology and innovation; meet and learn from professionals, creators, educators, visionaries, and fellow students; and receive an enriching, career-building, and often life-changing, experience.
If you are/were enrolled full-time as a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student for at least one semester between June 2024 and September 2025, and will be 18 years old on or before 8 August 2025 then you are encouraged to apply! All candidates must also be able to communicate fluently in English in order to be eligible.
How to Apply
Building a desirable future through computer graphics and interactive techniques starts with you and your participation in SIGGRAPH 2025. We are looking forward to receiving your application!
All SIGGRAPH Student Volunteers must earn their position through our virtual application process. The Student Volunteer program application can be found at sv.siggraph.org.
To be considered for the position, interested persons are required to complete the entire application, which asks for academic enrollment information, contact information, professional references, and 3 short essay responses. Applicants are also asked to verify if they would like to apply for need-based financial assistance in order to travel to the conference. Applicants are encouraged to start collecting their application materials ahead of time, as well as to put generous time, effort, and consideration into their applications.
Completing Your Application
Applicants will have the opportunity to reflect on their motivation for participating in the conference, experiences with diverse audiences and real-life problem solving. Those applying for Team Leader positions will additionally be asked to elaborate on their leadership experiences and their goals for continuing to volunteer within the SIGGRAPH community.
Out of fairness to all applicants, late or incomplete applications will not be considered. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you experience problems during the application process, please reach out to the Student Volunteer Subcommittee via email at SV-s2025@siggraph.org before the submission deadline.
Applying for Financial Assistance
Student Volunteers and Team Leaders can opt to apply for travel assistance on their conference application form (it is not a separate application!). Travel assistance may be provided based on the Student Volunteer Program’s availability of funds and on eligibility, which is determined on a case-by-case basis based solely on financial need. Assistance goes through a blind jury process, it is not based on nationality or country/location of residence. Anyone can apply, and every application will be considered equally. Funds are limited and assistance is not guaranteed.
Decisions on financial aid are made after the conclusion of the SV selection process, and funds awarded will be made available after the conclusion of the conference. Due to the extensive nature of the review process and the volume of applicants, requests received outside of the application process will not be considered.
Application Deadlines
After the Friday, 31 January 2025 all Student Volunteer Team Leader applicants are considered by the Student Volunteer Subcommittee (SVSC). Applicants with experience in leadership, customer service, volunteer work, or other service-oriented activities and have previously been a SIGGRAPH or SIGGRAPH Asia Student Volunteer are encouraged to apply. Team Leader selection notifications will be sent in late February 2025.
After the Friday, 28 February 2025, all Student Volunteer applicants are evaluated through a blind jurying process that lasts from March to late April. Student Volunteer applications are judged on quality, clarity, proper completion, and thoughtfulness to the application questions. Our team is looking for candidates who can communicate effectively, provide support, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and bring enthusiasm, a passion for service, and unique value to collaborate within a diverse and inclusive team.
All Student Volunteer applicants with completed applications will be notified of decisions by late April 2025. Accepted Student Volunteers will be required to confirm their position by late April 2025, or potentially forfeit their spot in the program.
