Submit to Technical Workshops

A new Technical Workshops Program is being piloted at SIGGRAPH 2025. The purpose of Technical Workshops is to provide a comprehensive, interactive forum to discuss topics that will not be fully explored during other technical programs at SIGGRAPH and to encourage in-depth, engaging discussion of advanced topics, involve experts in the field, disseminate work in progress, and promote new ideas. The Technical Workshops program is distinct from, and a complement to, SIGGRAPH’s long-running Courses program. Technical Workshops is not the appropriate program for tutorials or state-of-the-art reports. Instead, Technical Workshops should focus on emerging, open research questions and encourage a deep exploration of topics relevant to the SIGGRAPH Technical Community. Potential topics might include: the ethics of generative AI, physics simulation using neural fields, bringing VR to the masses, customized clothing, autonomous vehicles, digital twins, digital design in the 21st century, etc.

The format of workshops is flexible and could include panels, presentations, and open discussions. Interactive content that blurs the line between attendee and contributor is strongly encouraged. We expect most workshops to be half day (3.5 hours), but would also like to pilot several shorter, 90-minute workshops, and could accommodate one or two full-day workshops.

Please consider helping with this pilot program, we hope to use the 2025 experience to refine the Technical Workshops program for 2026 and beyond.

We welcome a conversation around your nascent ideas. Please submit a rough workshop proposal to explore possibilities with the Technical Workshops team and the SIGGRAPH 2025 Committee. Revisions will be recommended after review. The workshop plan should be designed to encourage deep-dive conversations organized and led by a panel of experts. For convenience, you may opt to include workshop and speaker details as a file upload for initial submission. Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the program is at capacity. We strongly encourage you to submit early. The submission system will close on Monday, 28 April 28 2025 at 22:00 UTC/GMT. Final materials must be submitted and speakers confirmed by Monday, 12 May 2025.
